10/30/2024 – In 1968 the Greek Chess Federation, which had organised multiple Olympiads and Zonal tournaments, invited the 25-year-old American grandmaster to play a clock simultaneous exhibition match against five strong Greek players. The historical games played in Athens have been recorded and carefully annotated by Greek grandmaster and trainer Efstratios Grivas.

10/29/2024 – With currently 5.55 million YouTube subscribers, Levy "Gotham Chess" Rozman is the most successful chess streamer in the world. He is an IM, his current Elo rating is 2347 and his declared goal is to become a Grandmaster. From 28 October to 3 November, he will now compete against Swedish chess Grandmaster Pia Cramling in an audience-attracting exhibition match in Stockholm. The two will play 4 classical games, 6 rapid games and 12 blitz games. Arjun Erigaisi made history by cementing Vishy Anand's legacy in Indian chess by becoming the second ever Indian (and we know a third is hot on his heels) to break that elusive 2800 barrier. 10/24/2024 – The 2024 US Chess Championships concluded with Fabiano Caruana and Carissa Yip emerging as outright winners in their respective sections. Caruana secured his fourth national title by defeating Sam Shankland in the final round, finishing 1½ points ahead of his closest rivals. Meanwhile, Yip had already clinched her third US Women's Championship with a round to spare, despite back-to-back losses in rounds 9 and 10.
