11/16/2024 – The Tata Steel India Blitz tournament began with fast-paced, exciting action in Kolkata, as Magnus Carlsen and Kateryna Lagno (pictured) took the lead in the open and women's sections, respectively. Carlsen, fresh off his rapid triumph, scored 6½/9 on Saturday despite a key loss to Arjun Erigaisi, while Lagno impressed with an undefeated 7/9, securing five wins and four draws. 11/16/2024 – The Tata Steel Chess India Rapid tournament concluded with dominant performances by Magnus Carlsen and Aleksandra Goryachkina. Both players remained undefeated and secured their respective titles with a round to spare, finishing with 7/9 scores. Carlsen claimed his ninth tournament victory of 2024, while Goryachkina triumphed by finishing 1½ points ahead of her closest rival, Nana Dzagnidze.
