11/9/2022 – At the beginning of November, there were plenty of opportunities to play chess in the south of Germany: The open tournaments in Deizisau and Baden-Baden gave committed chess players the chance to play 14 games in a total of eight tournament days. Jonathan Carlstedt won in Deizisan and Oleg Korneev won in Baden-Baden. Bettina Trabert reports.

11/9/2022 – IM Laura Unuk has been the best woman of her country, Slovenia for over seven years. She has won several Slovenia girls championships - Under-10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 from 2009 to 2017. She has also won a team Gold, individual Gold (2014) and Silver (2017) at European Under-18 Girls' Team. She is also the World Youth Under-16 (2014) and Under-18 Girls (2017) champion. The brand ambassador of Ferme Fashion and Huawei Slovenia also became the brand ambassador of Ford Slovenia. She was given a brand-new custom designed Ford Puma hybrid car which she calls Pumica (Baby Puma). 11/9/2022 – The Fall Chess Classic is taking place at the Saint Louis Chess Club on November 2-10. Two 10-player round-robin tournaments, group A and group B, are being played concurrently. In the main group, second seed Yu Yangyi from China is in the sole lead with a 5/7 points. Yu scored consecutive wins in the last three rounds. 11/8/2022 – At the end of October, former World Champion Anatoly Karpov had a severe accident that caused a traumatic brain injury and a fractured neck of the femur. Moreover, he has been battling pneumonia. 11/7/2022 – The second last part of the series tackles Lilit's mindset a bit. With just five more rounds to go, the Armenian IM had the chance to at least qualify for the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2023. Would she struggle with her overall condition, and get distracted from chess? One powerful opponent was waiting for her in round number eight - Mai Narva. But Lilit managed to prepare well, and surprise the Estonian WGM in the opening preparation. In the video, we can see how. And now, Lilit was actually playing for a medal!
