U.S. Championships - Games and standings

10/17/2023 – The U.S. Chess Championships took place on October 5-18 in Saint Louis, Missouri. Both the open and the women’s tournaments were 12-player round robins. Fabiano Caruana and Carissa Yip were the outright winners, with Caruana grabbing his third U.S. title and Yip collecting her second U.S. women’s title. | Replay all the games with computer-assisted analysis.

U.S. Championship 2023

The U.S. Championship is a 12-player round-robin featuring the strongest players in the United States. Players compete for $250,000 in prize money and title of U.S. Champion. If two or more players tie for first place a playoff will be held.

The U.S. Women’s Championship is a 12-player round-robin featuring the strongest women players in the United States. Players compete for $152,000 in prize money and title of U.S. Champion. If two or more players tie for first place a playoff will be held.

Players receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment from move one.
