Men's section

First let us get over with the technical stuff – the very high-category chess that is going on at the European Championships.

After 11 rounds Zurab Azmaiparashvili (Elo 2678, Georgia) remains in the sole lead with 8 points. He is followed by twelve players within striking distance.  Behind them is a group of 19 players with 7/11.

Women's section

After nine rounds there are four players in the lead, followed by a group of five and then a nine-player group a point behind the leaders.

For two days now we have been pressured by chess players all over the world, mainly by a very stong GM living in Greece, asking us to for chrissake publish the pictures we promised already, dammit. Sheesh, some people are really quite obsessed. Well, here they are at last, the ladies and gentlemen frolicing in the recreational facilities of the Hotel Princess in Silivri.
