Rules for reader comments
Chessbase.com readers are now able to comment on selected topical articles appearing on our news pages. However, in order to do so, you require playchess.com membership. You can register here: play.chessbase.com
All comments will only be published following moderation by the editorial staff – but that doesn’t apply for Premium members, whose comments will appear immediately.
Any and all comments and contributions must be legitimately related to the article in question.
We place a great deal of importance on comments being objective, as well as on the tolerance and respect of the opinions of others. Well-informed argumentation is always welcome (please don’t write in single sentences). We would ask you to check your spelling, sentence structure and punctuation too, as these rules must also be kept to. Comments are limited to a maximum of 2,000 characters. The editorial team reserves the right to shorten, modify or delete reader comments as it sees fit.
Discriminatory comments aimed at any individuals or groups on the basis of e.g. gender, age, language, origin, religious belief or ideology will always be deleted. Comments may not include contact addresses, telephone numbers, links to other websites or be used to promote any third-party or business interests. You must adhere to copyright law should you choose to associate a profile picture with your user account, and the same applies for the reuse of text or citations.
