Featuring eight top grandmasters, including England's prodigy Shreyas Royal and international stars like Vidit Gujrathi and Ju Wenjun, the tournament has seen intense battles over five rounds. 12/3/2024 – The book was originally published in German, has now been published in English by ChessBase India. The luxury hard cover version, printed in full colour, is available for less than $12, and the eBook version for just $9.50 – with all proceeds going to the HelpChess Foundation. 12/3/2024 – The World Chess Championship in Singapore reached its halfway point with a gripping game 7, as Ding Liren and Gukesh D battled for over five hours in the most thrilling draw of the match so far. Gukesh dominated early with excellent preparation, gaining a clear advantage, but missed a major chance to secure victory. Ding's resilience and endgame expertise salvaged a draw, despite a critical error in time trouble. Fabiano Caruana wins U.S. Masters with 8 out of 9

12/3/2024 – Fabiano Caruana was the clear rating favourite at the U.S. Masters, an open tournament that was played in Charlotte from 28 November to 1 December. Caruana and other top players rarely play open tournaments, but the U.S. Masters promised FIDE Circuit points, and thus winning the tournament might help Caruana to qualify for the Candidates 2026. Caruana started the tournament with five wins, then lost to GM Nikolas Theodorou but after scoring 3.0/3 in the last rounds he still finished clear first with 8.0/9, gaining 17.11 FIDE Circuit points. | Photos: Charlotte Chess Center

Nihal Sarin wins President Cup with sensational 2809 TPR

12/2/2024 – Nihal Sarin drew with elite GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov in the final round to claim outright victory at the third edition of the President Cup in Uzbekistan. Nihal had a sensational run in Tashkent, ending the event with a 7½/9 score and a 2809 performance (TPR). Javokhir Sindarov, Parham Maghsoodloo and Shamsiddin Vokhidov scored 7/9 points each.
