Prague: Keymer leads Challengers, Abdusattorov close behind

6/14/2022 – All five games finished drawn in round 5 of the Masters section at the Prague Chess Festival, which left Le Quang Liem and Pentala Harikrishna sharing the lead on 3½ points. Meanwhile, in the Challengers, Vincent Keymer kept the sole lead after beating Peter Michalik with the black pieces. Anand's fantastic performance in Norway Chess!

Magnus Carlsen wins Norway Chess for a fourth straight time

6/11/2022 – Magnus Carlsen won the Norway Chess Tournament for a fourth time in a row after beating Veselin Topalov in Armageddon on Friday. The world champion would not have grabbed the title had Shakhriyar Mamedyarov defeated Teimour Radjabov in their classical game. The Indian star, who was having a great run in Stavanger, made a one-move blunder and immediately resigned the game on move 22. Prague: Shankland beats Salem

6/9/2022 – Defending champion Sam Shankland bounced back from his first-round loss against Le Quang Liem by beating Saleh Salem with the white pieces in the Masters section of the Prague Chess Festival. This was the only decisive game of the day. Alexander Nikitin (1935-2022)

6/7/2022 – Alexander Nikitin passed away on June 5, at the age of 87. A strong International Master himself, Nikitin was one of the most distinguished chess coaches in history. Among others, he trained Dmitry Jakovenko, Etienne Bacrot and 13th world champion Garry Kasparov. GM Emil Sutovsky wrote an obituary.
