New: Chris Ward - Sicilian Dragon: The Real Deal!

10/14/2020 – English Grandmaster Chris Ward is an expert in the Sicilian Dragon, and wants to share his knowledge, debuting as a Fritztrainer. The British Championship Master's fun, entertaining spirit, and his soothing voice, keeps us hooked to his first part on how to play the Sicilian Dragon with plenty of current variations. The popular opening was recently played by Hikaru Nakamura, but also Veselin Topalov has used the powerful system in his best times with his very own variation. GM Ward doesn't want to dissect the variations too much, but rather give interesting new ideas for strong attacking play, creative moves and solid defending.

The perfect addition!

Sicilian Dragon Powerbase 2020 + Sicilian Dragon Powerbook 2020

The 730 selected annotated games offer excellent material for study. Top players such as Adhiban (1), Anand (2), Edouard (3), Gelfand (1); Kamsky (1), Motylev (1), Nielsen (2) and Tiviakov (9) have analysed their games with in addition annotations by Dragon experts like Dorian Rogozenco (288) and André Schulz (139) as well as other top level authors. There is a total of 4997 games with a rating average of at least 2500 (apart from games with annotations or played by Dragon experts Miso Cebalo, Sergei Tiviakov, Gawain Jones, Chris Ward, as well as games worth studying by strong correspondence chess players Michel Leqroc and Arild Haugen).

For the new edition of the Sicilian Dragon Powerbook the Elo average was set to at least 2450 (computer chess) or 2400 (human chess). This threshold was achieved by 12500 games from Mega 2021 and from correspondence chess, to which have been added 160 000 games from the engine room of playchess.com. The Dragon is one of those openings which you do not simply play but which turns into a passion. With this setup you avoid boring symmetrical positions but by playing it accept greater risks. However, the risk can also be minimised with good theoretical knowledge.

Sicilian Dragon Powerbase 2020

Sicilian Dragon Powerbase 2020 is a database and contains 4997 top class games from Mega 2021 and the Correspondence Database 2020, of which 730 are annotated.

I agree with mfnjc.
There is a new trend to have series for an opening, Chessbase and other platforms. More quantity, more value, more money. Fair enough. But distributing just part1 is a bit strange. Not sure about this marketing decision.
