Karjakin and Caruana came close in their matches, but had no confidence in the playoff outcome. Something Giri and Nepomniachtchi won't be bothered with anymore.
But let's not overdo things: this was just a rapid internet tournament where the double Bongcloud was played.

It seems both Giri and Nipomniatchtchi are on world championship course...both are still on the cycle to dethrone Carlsen and as such are much more prepared nowadays to win anything!
Carlsen and Naka or on holidays modus i guess or just on low profile...
