Behind the scenes at the Olympiad with ChessBase
The ChessBase team had a great time in Samarkand! Arne Kähler begins another tour of the Olympiad venue at the entrance gate together with ChessBase News editor-in-chief Johannes Fischer. This time, he shows the inside of the Expo.

9/28/2026 – In the final round of the Women's Chess Olympiad, China, led by top board Zhu Jiner, defeated Vietnam 3–1 to secure first place outright with 20 match points. Their rivals did not fare as well. Kazakhstan drew with Poland, while India drew with Georgia. China drew with India, while Kazakhstan defeated France 2½–1½. China remain in sole first place, but their lead over Kazakhstan has been reduced to a single point.
