3/23/2024 – Saving the best for the last is a popular saying. The sixth edition of the Prague International Chess Festival awarded best-game prizes for each round. There was also a prize for the most spectacular game of the tournament named Lubomír Kaválek Prize. Nodirbek Abdusattorov won it for his round-8 victory over Parham Maghsoodloo. The seventh edition of the Prague International Chess Festival will take place from 25 February to 7 March 2025 as mentioned on the tournament’s homepage.

The Lubomír Kaválek Prize for the best game of the tournament was awarded for the first time at the Prague International Chess Festival 2021. The award is named after the late Czech-American Grandmaster Lubomír Kaválek (1943-2021), who has been awarded many times during his career for playing the best, most beautiful or, if you like, the most interesting games.
The eighth-round game between Nodirbek Abdusattorov (UZB) and Parham Maghsoodloo (IRI) won the Most Spectacular Game of the Tournament prize.
