Carlsen loses, Carlsen wins

by ChessBase
8/5/2020 – When Magnus Carlsen plays, there is never a dull moment. Most of the time he wins, but sometimes he loses. On his YouTube Channel Daniel King (now with a beard, but it's him) presents two remarkable encounters between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Magnus Carlsen from the final of the Legends of Chess Tournament.

YOUR PERSONAL CHESS COACH - Whether you’re taking your first steps into the world of club chess, or already playing at a tournament level: with FRITZ, you can train more efficiently, intelligently and with a more personalised approach than ever before.
FRITZ is more than just a chess engine – it’s a training revolution! Whether you’re taking your first steps into the world of club chess, or already playing at a tournament level: with FRITZ, you can train more efficiently, intelligently and with a more personalised approach than ever before.

On the first day of the final, Ian Nepomniachtchi achieved a drastic victory against the World Champion, who only rarely gets outplayed like this.

But despite this loss, the World Champion still managed to win the first set of the final, even if only in the play-off.

However, on the second day Carlsen made short work of the Russian Grandmaster.

More Magnus Carlsen:

Scarcely any world champion has managed to captivate chess lovers to the extent Carlsen has. The enormously talented Norwegian hasn't been systematically trained within the structures of a major chess-playing nation such as Russia, the Ukraine or China.

More Daniel King:

Glorious sacrifices, unexpected tactics and checkmating attacks. The King's Gambit is one of the oldest and most romantic openings in the game of chess. This DVD contains all you need to know to tackle your opponent.
