Berlin GP: A great day for team USA

3/28/2022 – Four players representing the United States scored full points in round 5 of the Berlin Grand Prix. Levon Aronian and Hikaru Nakamura both won and are now sharing the lead in pool A, much like Wesley So and Sam Shankland, who are now co-leaders in pool C. Carlsen beats Duda in thrilling match, wins Charity Cup

3/27/2022 – After getting a clear victory on Friday and kicking off Saturday’s second set with a win, Magnus Carlsen seemed to be headed to a swift triumph in the final of the Charity Cup. However, Jan-Krzysztof Duda did not just give up, as he incredibly scored back-to-back wins to take the match to tiebreakers. In the blitz encounters, Carlsen regained his composure and won both games to claim his second consecutive title in the Champions Chess Tour.

Charity Cup Finals - Games and results

3/26/2022 – The second event of the 2022 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, the Charity Cup, will focus on raising funds for UNICEF to support children and their families within or fleeing Ukraine. Magnus Carlsen, Ding Liren and Richard Rapport head the 16-player field. The tournament is taking place on March 19-26, with the action kicking off daily at 18.00 CET (13.00 ET, 17.00 UTC, 22.30 IST).

Berlin GP: Wide open

3/26/2022 – Two quiet rounds were followed by a day full of excitement at the third leg of the FIDE Grand Prix. Five games finished decisively, and remarkably three of the winners beat the players who had defeated them in the first round of the event — i.e. Hikaru Nakamura beat Levon Aronian, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave beat Alexandr Predke, and Amin Tabatabaei beat Nikita Vitiugov. The world champion won games 2 and 3 to go into the second set of the match only needing a draw to secure tournament victory. Charity Cup: Anton wins three in a row to reach knockout

3/23/2022 – The final day of the Charity Cup preliminaries had its fair share of drama, with half the players getting knocked out of the competition after 15 rounds. Praggnanandhaa and Richard Rapport did not make the cut, with Pragg missing winning chances before losing his last game of the prelims against David Anton. 3/23/2022 – This year the Romanian Championships took place from 21 to 27 February at Eforie Nord. In Spring and Summer, Eforie Nord is full of tourists but in the off-season it was quiet, and the tranquility of the place made Eforie the perfect location to play chess. Levon Aronian and Leinier Dominguez got crucial wins against direct contenders Hikaru Nakamura and Daniil Dubov, while Nikita Vitiugov got the better of Amin Tabatabaei, the lowest-rated player in pool D. Third stage of the Grand Prix kicks off without Andreikin
