Now, with one round to go, Linex Magic is in front, with 11/12 match and 24½ board points at the European Team Championships. In the women's section Monte-Carlo with Koneru Humpy has already wrapped it up. Today we look at individual performances.

The 23rd European Club Cup for Men and the 12th European Club Cup for Women are taking place from October 2nd to 10th in Kemer, Antalya, Turkey. There are 56 teams participating in the men's section and 18 teams in the women's. Amongst the players are Anand, Ivanchuk, Svidler, Carlsen, Karjakin, Kamsky, Radjabov, Shirov, Girschuk, Kasimdzhanov, Bologan, Short, Atalik, Adams, Ponomariov, Mamedyarov, Morozevich, van Wely, Sasikiran; and in the women's section Humpy, Cramling, Zhu Chen, Stefanova, Skripchenko, Chiburdanidze, Lahno, Hou Yifan; and many others.

Report after round six

After four rounds the Alkaloid team with Mamedyarov, Kiril Georgiev, Volkov and Kozul was in the lead, but two consecutive losses set them back to place 12! The new leader after six rounds is Linex Magic Merida with Kamsky, Adams, Rublevsky, Sargissian and Cheparinov, followed by three teams: Ural Sverdlovskaya, with Radjabov, Shirov, Grischuk, Akopian, Malakhov, Dreev, Motylev and Rashkovsky;Economist SGSEU-1 Saratov with Alekseev, Tomashevsky, Tiviakov, Galkin, Roiz, Dyachkov, Kornev, and Iljushin; and Bosna Sarajevo with Ivanchuk, Almasi, Movsesian, Sokolov, Short, Predojevic and Atalik Suat (only GMs named in the lists above).

The teams of Tomsk-400 (Morozevich, Jakovenko, Karjakin, Kasimdzhanov, Inarkiev, Tkachiev, Bologan and Smirnov), and OSC Baden-Baden with Anand, Svidler, Carlsen, Bacrot, Nisipeanu, Harikrishna, Nielsen and Schlosser, the highest ranked with a rating average of 2713, follow a point behind (and two behind the leader).

In the women's section the team of Monte Carlo continues to lead, and is now two full points ahead. The team fields Koneru Humpy, Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant, Pia Cramling, Sopio Gvetadze, Zhu Chen, Nana Dzagnidze and Monika Socko (rating average 2535). Second is now AVS Krasnoturinsk with Xu Yuhua, Stefanova, Matveeva, Muzychuk, and Pogonina (average 2478). Six teams are a point behind them, aiming for second place.
