Ruben Mantel? Don’t feel bad if you haven’t heard of Ruben Mantel yet. He might only be the fastest chess player in Germany! Mantel regularly plays the so-called “Ultra-bullet” variant, a fancy name for the insane 15-second chess (often enough, Ruben Mantel even plays with 7½ seconds).
The German chess player, with a FIDE rating of 2100, is on eye-level with the “speed elite”, which includes the likes of GMs Andrew Tang, Nihal Sarin or Sergei Zighalko.
