Impressions from Khanty-Mansiysk

The participants of the World Youth Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk enjoyed...

... blues skies, some sun and temperatures of about 10° celsius.

The World Youth Championships were a well-organised big event

View into the playing hall

Main arbiter Carlos from Portugal helped to...

... run things smoothly.

Searching for an answer to the most urgent questions before
the round: "Who do I play?" "And where?"

Let the game begin!

The first few minutes of the game offered parents and helpers a chance to make pictures...

... but then they had to leave the playing area.

Relaxed before...

... and focused during...

... the game.

On his way to become a grandmaster? The 14-year old Andrey Esipenko from Russia is a FM, has a current rating of 2490,
and with 9.0/11 finished equal second in the U14 Open.

Igor Tokuichi Kikuchi Cadilhac from Brazil

Jonas Roseneck, Josefine Heinemann and Fiona Sieber from Germany
