The game of the day will be Abdumalik-Stefanova played in round 5 of the Women's Grand Prix. Lawrence will also talk about what happened in the FTX Crypto Cup Final and the European World Cup Qualifier.

But first, a warm-up: Below is a position from the final of the FTX Crypto Cup, in which Magnus Carlsen defeated Wesley So by winning the Armageddon game. In the diagram position it looks as though the World Champion, who had the white pieces, is in the driving seat, but is that really the case?
