The following is an experiment. Using the games file from Dagomys and the ratings given therein we have calculated the performances of the individual players. The list below is sorted according to the performance. The final column gives the score and number of games, which puts the performance into relation. Note that we cannot guarantee that we got all the automatic calculations right.

It appears that top seed Alexander Morozevich has the highest performance (naturally), with the perennial and hard-working Vassily Ivanchuk (he played all seven games) following close behind. A total of nine players have a performance of over 2800.

The top scorers are interesting, as are the players who have performed badly so far. We see that Evgeny Bareev has been playing 312 points below his 2677 rating; Kamil Miton 260 points below his 2620; Loek van Wely 259 points below his 2676; and Arty Timofeev 258 points lower than his 2664. Most disappointing performance must go to young Ian Nepomniachtchi, who has only scored one draw in five games, with a performance of 2294, 340 below his nominally rating of 2634.
