
ChessBase is a personal, stand-alone chess database that has become the standard throughout the world. Everyone uses ChessBase, from the World Champion to the amateur next door. It is the program of choice for anyone who loves the game and wants to know more about it.
The Russian Championship Qualifier will be staged in in Kazan from September 2nd – 12th, 2005. The event is a nine-round Swiss tournament. The first round is on September 3rd, the last on September 11th, with the games starting at 15:00h Moscow time (13:00h CEST, 7:00 a.m. NY). The final round begins two hours earlier.
Time controls are 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes for 20 moves and 10 minutes for the rest of the game. There is a 30 seconds increment after each move, from the first move on. The prize fund is US $100,000.
Kazan is in the Republic of Tatarstan, approximately 700 km east of Moscow.
