Turin 2006: Live video broadcast
The main attraction of the Playchess multimedia coverage is of course the
live game annotations, with GM Yasser Seirawan showing spectators from all
over the world the highlighs of the day's play. He does this in clear, well-articulated
English, explaining the ideas behind the moves and manoeuvres, not just variations
and alternate lines.

Apart from the commentary Yasser also does interviews with interesting players,
typically just after they have won a game, and walkarounds of the playing hall.
Instructions on how to follow the broadcasts are to be found here.

If you are unable to watch the original shows, possibly because the live broadcasts
are at some unearthly hour in your part of the world, you can catch up later
and follow the action at a more convenient time. Here's how:
- Log into the Playchess server, go to the "Chess Media System"
room, there to "Events and Reports – Olympiad Torino 2006".
- Click "Games" in the main list window. The archive games will
be displayed.

- Note that viewing the broadcasts costs two ducats each. That is about 20
Euro cents (less than 30 US cents). The first few minutes are shown to you
for free. How to get ducats is also explained here.
Broadcasts by the Turkish Chess Federation
The Turkish Chess Federation and its President Ali Nihat Yazici is also broadcasting
interviews and discussions on the Playchess Server. This is done from the Right
Move campaign stand in the Olympiad playing hall. A list of the videos can
be found on the web site of the TCF ("Video
Galeri").

Here are some highlights from the TCF/Right Move Olympiad broadcasts. Note
that in some cases the file size is quite large (around 27 MB), but definitely
worth viewing. You can click the link and wait until the video appears in your
media player, or you can right-click it and use "Save link as" to
save it to your hard disk first.
