Turin 2006: After round eleven

Armenia defeated the Czech Republic 3:1, with Levon Aronian beating David Navara, and Karen Asrian defeating Vlastimil Bubla. That put Arminia a full 3.5 points ahead of their nearest rivals (China). France helped in this ranking by defeating China 2.5:1.5 (Lautier beat Zhang Zhong), which put the French squad on par with the Chinese. The US fought an incredible battle aganist Russia, with Grischuk winning, winning, winning until he lost (to a blunder – 43...fxg6?? instead of 43...Bxg3!) against Hikaru Nakamura. Gata Kamsky was quite disappointed not to have got a full point in his game against Vladimir Kramnik. The final score: 2.5:1.5 for the USA.
