Modern Classics #02: Botvinnik - Tal (1960)
Dorian Rogozenco demonstrates in his video how the later World Champion relied on activity from the start of the game. His positional piece sacrifice on move 21 came out of the blue, not only for his opponent, Mikhail Botvinnik, but also for the spectators. In CBM #211 the former coach of the German National Team goes into Botvinnik's (inaccurate) reaction as well as the correct response to the sacrifice and summarises the many complex analyses that were made of this game even later with the help of strong engines. "A very impressive and spectacular game!"
