Fabulous Fabiano leads in Iceland

Born of Italian parents "Fab Fab" has lived and trained in the US, Spain and Hungary. He shares the lead with Icelandic GM Hannes Stefansson. The XXIII Reykjavik Open 2008 is taking place from March 3rd-11th, 2008. The tournament is open for foreign players above 2200 FIDE and Icelandic players above 2000 FIDE. Rate of play: 90 min. / 40 moves + 15 minutes after 40 moves. 30 sec. increment for every move.

In the lead is still Fabiano Caruana, fifteen years old GM from Italy – and the US, and Spain, and Hungary, countries where he has lived and trained. Fabulous Fab is performing at a 2832 level and conceded just one draw, in round five against Greek GM Halkias Stelios, so far. He shares the lead with Icelandic GM Hannes Stefansson, rated 2564.
