Dutch National Internet Championship on Playchess
The Dutch Chess Federation will host the 2012 Dutch Internet Championship on
Playchess. Seven grandmasters will play in what is already the fourth national
Dutch Internet Championship. Reigning Dutch Internet Champion Loek van Wely
will defend his title. Other participants include Ivan Sokolov, Jan Smeets and
Robin van Kampen. Ten players have earned a spot in the finals based on their
rating, while two other players are qualified on the basis of their ‘masterpoints’
(masterpoints are earned in the Dutch two weekly Internet tournaments). These
12 players are all directly qualified for the finals on June 30.
Four other players will qualify in the qualifying tournaments held from June
26 to June 29. The qualifying tournaments are open to all Dutch players.
The tournament will be played in tournament room 1 of the Royal Dutch Chess
Federation on Playchess.
