Classic counter measures

With a last-round win against Tigran Petrosian, Hovhannes Gabuzyan finished the Armenian Championships 2021 in style, as he won the event with an impressive 8½/11 score and a tournament performance rating of 2790.

Petrosian, playing white, tries to stifle Black’s Najdorf positionally, but is treated to
classic counter measures. The variation is of particular interest to me as I covered it in my Najdorf DVD for ChessBase. In the video, I talk through the theoretical developments.
