I am testing the viewers’ killer instincts. In the last-round game from Norway Chess between Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana, a position arose which was highly tactical and could have led to a swift conclusion.
I'm taking a dive down an untrodden path and looking at the best ways to finish the game after various defensive tries from Black.
Caruana correctly played 18...Qd5 in the following position. The alternative 18...Qa5 wasn’t played — why not? What is the move for White that sets off a whole sequence of killer tactics?
