I am taking game 2 of the Ding Liren vs Ian Nepomniachtchi match as a starting point, and comparing it with two games from the 2008 World Championship match between Vishy Anand and Vladimir Kramnik. That came as a surprise! Does it remind you of some earlier World Championship games? Let us revisit Kramnik vs Anand from 2008...

Some similarities with Ding vs Nepomniachtchi! By the way, why didn’t Kramnik take on d4 in this position?
