Their combined score will be used to determine final standings.

The Croatia Grand Chess Tour will include 9 rounds of rapid chess and 18 rounds of blitz chess for a total prize fund of $150,000.

Kaspy is also such a jerk these days when he loses...or even that first (of 2) wins...just jumps up and storms off. The many...'has issues'.

@GamerSF: Kasparov did not play the rapid section. Saric did.

Look at Rapid Kasparov score ,10 points only 1 point behind Nepo and at blitz only 0.5 so kasparov prefers longer TC

Serse - it's like watching an 65 yr old boxer come out and get pummeled by a current heavyweight boxer. You might "enjoy" seeing that but I would have preferred seeing the two guys he and Kramnik 'replaced' for this part of the tourney. They were doing...quite well!

I think it's great that Kasparov is playing. It's blitz---it's mostly meaningless and supposed to be fun.

I guess Kasparov didnt like that result ... gotta say Anand performed really well then compared to him ... must be scary for Kasparov to have to play another day ...

Garry has been retired for a long time. His level of play is light years behind that of his "young"opponents. So what? Let's just enjoy seeing the modern chess legend play a few more games.

What exactly is the time control??

Yes, Gary continues to embarrass himself for a paycheck and some attention. Sad, but it's often the life of an 'ex' chessplayer. Perhaps this is the last we see of Gary OTB...time for him to champion a variant like a certain other ex chessplayer.

Kasparov lol getting destroyed. Why would he even participate when he knows he out of form. Same as last year and the year before. How many excuses will he make? *rolls eyes

vishy has unnecessarily developed psychological blocks against players like Magnus and Giri... it is a pity...

A bad play by Vishy overall today.
