A podcast is a technology for distributing audio programs on the Internet. It is like radio on demand, with the user normally subscribing to the audio feed, which is automatically retrieved when it becomes available. The audio file can be stored on your computer or transferred to an MP3 player.
Podcasts are usually free, and there are currently over 25,000 available on the Internet. There are a number of sites that cater to podcasting, the most notable being Apple's iTunes, Podcast Alley and Yahoo Podcasts. You can usually select categories and have the latest installments automatically downloaded to your MP3 player, listening to them when and where you want to.
