Celebrating 10,000 YouTube Subscribers: Win Felix Blohberger’s King’s Indian Course

by ChessBase
1/31/2026 – Felix Blohberger set himself two ambitious goals in an interview with Arne Kähler last August: he wanted to reach 10,000 subscribers with his YouTube channel, launched a year and a half ago, and he set the magical 2600 Elo mark as the hurdle he aimed to clear as a player. He recently achieved the first goal and is therefore giving away five copies of his King’s Indian courses, published in December, to his fans. How to get the course—and how things stand with the second goal—see below …

GM Blohberger presents a complete two-part repertoire for Black: practical, clear, and flexible – instead of endless theory, you’ll get straightforward concepts and strategies that are easy to learn and apply.
The King’s Indian Defence has been one of the most dynamic and popular responses to 1.d4 for decades. Legends such as Garry Kasparov, Bobby Fischer, and Hikaru Nakamura have employed it at the highest level – and it continues to fascinate today, as it offers Black not only solidity but also rich attacking and counterattacking opportunities. Its special advantage: the King’s Indian is a universal system, equally effective against 1.d4, 1.c4, and 1.Nf3. Grandmaster Felix Blohberger, multiple Austrian Champion and experienced second, presents a complete two-part repertoire for Black. His approach: practical, clear, and flexible – instead of endless theory, you’ll get straightforward concepts and strategies that are easy to learn and apply.

10.000!

Felix Blohberger aims more to teach than to entertain—but with his YouTube channel he manages to do both. He speaks openly about life as a grandmaster and analyzes his own games, those of his students, or games from top tournaments. His concept has proven so successful that after just a year and a half he can already boast more than 10,000 subscribers (current total: 10,400).

This puts him at 2541 at present, which is also a personal best for him, but still means there is some distance to go before reaching 2600 …
