Remarkably, this edition will see two Triathlons taking place simultaneously: the Masters and the Challengers. Triathlons' final phase - Round 3

The 57th edition of the Biel Chess Festival is taking place on July 13-26. This edition sees two Triathlons taking place simultaneously: the Masters and the Challengers.

Scoring system

  • Classical: 4 points for a win; 1½ point for a draw
  • Rapid: 2 points for a win; 1 point for a draw
  • Blitz: 1 point for a win; ½ point for a draw

Time controls

  • Classical: 120 minutes for the first 40 moves + 60 minutes for the next 20 moves + 15 minutes for the rest of the game + 30-second increments from move 61
  • Rapid: 15 minutes + 5-second increments per move
  • Blitz: 3 minutes + 2-second increments per move
