The
First Asian Senior and Amateur Championships are taking place 4-14 June 2010
in Beirut, Lebanon. Eleven countries are seeing action in the two new events
of the Asian Chess Federation, namely Palestine, Syria, UAE, India, Iran, Pakistan,
Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan and Lebanon. A total of US $12,000 are at stake,
with $6,000 for the Asian Seniors and $6,000 for the Asian Amateurs.

Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, as was the President of the Lebanese Chess
Federation and many personalities from the Asian and Arab countries.
