New York, February 7, 2005Accoona.com, the new Artificial Intelligence Web Search Company, announced today that it will present the Accoona Women’s World Chess Championship on March 1, 2005, 5pm, at The ABC Times Square Studios, in the heart of New York City.

The evening will begin with an introduction from renowned international business figure, Steve Forbes (picture right). Mr. Forbes will speak about the advent of Web Search and its business applications throughout the world, particularly its promise in China, the World’s fastest growing economy and marketplace. Mr. Forbes will also perform the ceremonial first move for the Chess Championship.

This world-class Chess event, sanctioned by the New York City Sports Commission, the US Chess Federation, and the Association of Chess Professionals, promises to be an exciting cultural exchange between China and America.

“On behalf of the New York City I am proud to welcome the Accoona Women’s Chess Championship to New York City,” said New York City Sports Commissioner Ken Podziba. “Chess fans throughout China and worldwide will be watching closely as these champions square off in a battle of great minds,” continued Podziba.

The women will play two games of rapid chess, with each dramatic game lasting at most one hour. If the match ends in a tie, the champions will play a sudden-death ten minute game. Move-by-move commentary will be provided by award-winning author and television personality Paul Hoffman and Canadian Chess Champion and International Master Pascal Charbonneau. International Grandmaster Ron Henley will serve as official arbiter for the Championship Match.
