The organiser of this non-public event was Carlsen's sponsor, the Societät Simonsen Vogt Wiig. Despite losing two games it was an impressive performance by Carlsen. After the end of all five games, the remarkable relaxed World Champion talked about his performance, admitting that he had some difficulties and that he might need a bit more time should he play similar events in the future.

He added that the Blitz World Championship in Berlin now will feel much easier. Carlsen also revealed how annoying it is for the blindfold player if the opponent does not follow standard patterns but plays in unorthodox fashion.
