7/9/2023 – Magnus Carlsen obtained a 3-point lead going into the final day of action at the SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz tournament after scoring a magnificent 9 out of 9 in the first half of the blitz section. After beating all of his opponents, an elated Carlsen told Anastasiya Karlovich: “I’ve had good days, but of course, this is something special”. Women’s World Championship: Ju misses chance in game 3

7/8/2023 – In the third game of the FIDE Women’s World Championship on Saturday, defending champion Ju Wenjun, playing black, briefly got an edge, but it quickly evaporated. Challenger Lei Tingjie was able to regain a balanced position in which the draw could no longer be averted. All three games have ended drawn so far in Shanghai. The Short but Glorious Life of Edgard Colle (May 18, 1897 - April 19, 1932)

7/5/2023 – In the recent 2023 World Championship Match, Ding Liren won Game 12 against Ian Nepomniachtchi using the Colle System to tie the score at six. The match remained tied after fourteen games, and Ding went on to beat Nepomniachti in the rapid tie-breaks to become the 17th World Champion. Back in León: Gelfand to look for third straight victory in 4-player knockout

Once again, a 4-player knockout will be the main attraction in the city located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. Boris Gelfand will attempt to defend his title against Francisco Vallejo, Nikita Vitiugov and local star Jaime Santos. Gelfand defeated Vishy Anand in the final of last year’s edition.
