8/5/2024 – The World Rapid and Blitz Team Championship begins on Friday with a three-day rapid chess tournament. The blitz tournament follows on Monday and Tuesday. Among others, Magnus Carlsen, Ding Liren and Vincent Keymer will be competing. Rounds start in the rapid tournament on all three days at 11.00 local time (8.00 CEST, 2.00 ET).

Preview of the Rapid and Blitz World Team Championships

8/1/2024 – On Friday, the event, which has been expanded into the World Rapid Chess and Blitz Team Championship, will begin in Astana after its premiere in Düsseldorf last year. Some teams are coming with absolute top line-ups. Defending champion WR Chess has strengthened its team with Magnus Carlsen.
