EU Youth Chess Championships in Kouty nad Desnou

8/23/2021 – The 19th edition of the European Union Youth Chess Championship took place on August 14-22 at the Hotel Dlouhe Strane in Kouty nad Desnou, Czech Republic. Boys and girls in each category played in the same tournament. Once the event came to an end, girls were evaluated separately to find the winners in the girls’ categories. | Photos: Official site

Russia dominated European Youth Championship

9/4/2016 – Even though the current World Champion is from Norway and the current Women's World Champion is from China, Russia is still a superpower in chess. And the European Youth Championship that finished last week in Prague showed that Russia still has a seemingly inexhaustible pool of talented young players: Russia won no less than 15 of 36 possible medals. The remaining 21 medals were shared among 16 different nations. Results and games.

8/26/2016 – The European Youth Chess Championships are played from 17th to 28th of August in Prague. It is a huge tournament and young talents from all over Europe start in the age groups U8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18, boys and girls. In each group eight rounds are played and after five rounds everything is, of course, still open, but the blitz- and rapid tournaments played on the free day had a winner.
