The Pune stage of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix is the fifth of six events that constitute the two-year series. The top two finishers in the series will qualify for the next edition of the Women's Candidates Tournament.
The event is a 10-player single round-robin. The time control is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move starting from move 1.

Organised by the Maharashtra Chess Association and FIDE, the tournament brings together ten top players as the series nears its conclusion. With just two events remaining, the race for qualification to the 2026 Women’s Candidates Tournament is intensifying. Aleksandra Goryachkina leads the standings, but several players still have a shot at the second qualifying spot in this pivotal round-robin event.
