The
prime reason for staging this tournament is that the organiser, Fernando Braga,
wants Spanish students to gain experience on the Playchess server before they
take part in the official "Campeonato Escolar“, the Spanish School
Chess Championship. And that they should do this with international participants.
The President of the District of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre (picture left), will be present at one of the school centers to watch the event.
