Colomiers is a commune in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France.
It is the largest suburb of the city of Toulouse, with a population of close
to 30,000. The Open Tournament took place from February 25th to March 2nd 2008.
It a nine-round Swiss, FIDE-rules, 40 moves/1h 30 + 30 sec then 20 mn + 30 sec.

The winner, IM Ramon Mateo, who beat GM Igor Miladinovic in the last round.
Mateo has made three GM norms, but he needs to reach a rating of over 2500 to
become the first GM from the Dominican Republic.
