Daniel King
(Born 1963) is a Grandmaster, has been a professional chess player for more than 20 years and has represented his country in numerous competitions, amongst others in the historic win by the English over the Soviet Union in 1990 in Reykjavík. King is the author of more than 15 chess books and has wealth of experience as a trainer, assisting many of England’s leading players. He is also well known for his broadcasting on TV, radio and the internet, commentating major chess events. To the delight of chess fans worldwide, he hosts his monthly "PowerPlay" show on the world's largest chess server, Playchess.com. He contributes to ChessBase Magazine, with the popular column "Move by Move". King has also produced the highly praised PowerPlay DVD series for ChessBase. King lives in London.

Regarding 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Nf3 g5 4.Nc3 the author does not cover 4...d6(!), since then the Quaade Continuation is just incredibly bad (5.g3? g4 6.Nh4 Be7!N and Black is much, much better after A) 7.Ng2 f3 8.Nf4 h5! or B) 7.Nf5 Bxf5 8.exf5 h5!). And also the speculative gambit 5.d4 g4 6.Bxf4 does not seem to work in account of 6...gxf3 7.Qxf3 Nc6 8.Bb5 Bd7 9.0-0-0 Qh4 10.g3 and now 10...Qh3! with a big advantage for Black.
