Tournament winner Krishnan Sasikiran
Krishnan Sasikiran started the tournament with two wins and two draws. After three more wins in a row he had to play against his Swapnil S. Dhopade, who is also from India. After some maneuvering in the middlegame Krishnan Sasikiran exploited an oversight of his opponent to initiate a nice attack.

This win was crucial for Krishnan Sasikiran's tournament victory. In the last round he played against Sergey Volkov and a draw was enough for becoming sole winner.
