Vladimir Fedoseev is a distinguished chess grandmaster known for his aggressive and imaginative play. His career is marked by significant achievements, including a bronze medal at the 2014 European Individual Chess Championship in Yerevan, which qualified him for the 2015 FIDE World Cup. In 2017, he delivered a remarkable performance at the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting, finishing second after defeating former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik in the opening round.
In December 2023 he earned a silver medal at the World Rapid Chess Championship in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, finishing just behind Magnus Carlsen. The following year, in September 2024, he achieved a notable victory over Carlsen during the 45th Chess Olympiad. December 2024 saw him crowned as the European champion in both Rapid chess and Chess960 formats.
Vladimir Fedoseev has represented Slovenia for the past two years and led its national team to an impressive 9th-place finish at the 2024 Chess Olympiad in Budapest. He currently resides in Munich.
