Game of the Week #464

Top level chess mostly consisted of blitz events in the past week and the Chinese Championship, too, did not have its usual elite line-up, but still there were interesting games to study.

We came accross Wei Yi versus Zhao Jun, which saw the former wunderkind, now aged 21, broaden his horizons with the white pieces. Once a consistent 1.e4 player, he now played a setup that Dutch chess fans mainly associate with Manuel Bosboom.

Warm-up question: What would you play here with White?
