From September 18 (arrival) to October 1 (departure), the Kazakhstan Chess Federation will host the Cadet World Championship for children in the U8, U10, and U12 age groups, each with an open tournament and a girls’ tournament. Each federation may register one participant for each of the tournaments (plus one accompanying person), who will be invited by the Kazakhstan Federation. In addition, invitations are extended to the top three players in each category of the last Cadet World Championships (2024), the continental cadet champions of 2024 (1st place), and the players finishing 1st to 3rd in the FIDE Youth World Cup 2025. Federations may also register additional players for participation, but must cover the expenses for these players and their accompanying persons themselves.

The venue of the Cadet World Championship is the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty.

Federations from nearly 90 countries have registered players for the championships.

As part of the event, the World Cadet Solving Championship will also take place on September 25, in age groups corresponding to those of the playing competitions.
