Winning starts with what you know
The new version 18 offers completely new possibilities for chess training and analysis: playing style analysis, search for strategic themes, access to 6 billion Lichess games, player preparation by matching Lichess games, download Chess.com games with built-in API, built-in cloud engine and much more.
Yesterday Fabiano Caruana posted a video on his YouTube channel of a brief blitz game played inside a Tesla Model 3 sedan. The car company founded by Elon Musk rolled out a new version of its "Arcade" app for the car's infotainment system in June, which includes a rudimentary chess engine.
When your car can do zero-to-sixty faster than you can make your next move, we call that a checkmate.

Chess begins rolling out to the Tesla Arcade globally today 🤠♟ pic.twitter.com/cNRf3kAtAA
It’s not every day that I get to play against a chess-playing car! Check out the video of my match against a @Tesla: https://t.co/h1s6kQegzY. I won this round ... so when are we playing @elonmusk?

Note to Caruana's Twitter handler: Doubt Fabi would refer to this as a "match" :)
The touch screen display looks spacious, but for viewing the game itself, it's not ideal. So we took the liberty of adding the game via videos.chessbase.com for your viewing pleasure. You can even download the PGN for posterity!
Carana vs Tesla Model 3
In the future perhaps we'll be playing blitz while going for a spin in an auto-piloted Tesla, but for now best to keep your eyes on the road and save your blitzing for a supercharger break!
Well it seems we can't beat the... *checks notes* ...number 1 chess player in the US. Yet.
