The competition is officially labeled the Eurasian Blitz Chess Cup of the President of Kazakhstan and promises mouth watering action for the two days it runs. It will be held in Almaty, the largest metropolitan of Kazakhstan.

This leafy city with a backdrop of the snowcapped Zailiysky Alatau has always been among the more appealing Russian creations in Central Asia.
