Winning starts with what you know

The competition is officially labeled the Eurasian Blitz Chess Cup of the President of Kazakhstan and promises mouth watering action for the two days it runs. It will be held in Almaty, the largest metropolitan of Kazakhstan.

This leafy city with a backdrop of the snowcapped Zailiysky Alatau has always been among the more appealing Russian creations in Central Asia. Today Almaty’s new rich have expensive suburban apartments, large SUVs, glitzy shopping malls, Western-style coffee lounges, expensive restaurants, dance-till-dawn nightclubs and new ski resorts to help them enjoy life to the full.

The prizefund is a very generous $100 thousand, including a huge $30 thousand for first prize, and $20 thousand for second. there are also prizes for categories such as best female, best junior, best senior (50+) and more.
