Moravska Slavia and Frydek Mistek seized the opportunity to take the lead, at least temporarily, in the absence of Novy Bor, the Extra League's undisputed top team.

The round is about to begin

In the third round on Saturday, Moravska Slavia, where multiple World Championship candidate and 2012 World Championship runner-up Boris Gelfand plays top board, defeated SK Slavoj Poruba 5-3. In a hard-fought match, Gelfand, Tomas Polak and Jan Malek scored the winning points for the Brno team. Richard Biolek jr. was the only player who won for Slavoj Poruba.

Frydek Mistek with Anton Korobov on board one came to a close 4.5:3.5 against Sigil Fund Pardubice.

On Sunday, Moravska Slavia and Frydek Mistek drew 4:4, with Vitaliy Bernadskiy (Frydek Mistek) defeating the Dutchman Erwin l'Ami, who has been playing for Brno since this season, in the duel at board two. The top match between Korobov and Gelfand ended in a draw.

However, the men from Brno equalised with wins from Jan Krejci on board four, Vojtech Straka on board six and Jakub Kusa on board 8 to make the final score 4:4.
