The Credit Suisse event in Zurich lasted from 11 a.m. until well after midnight, which is when we are writing this express report. A full pictorial description of the day's exciting activities will follow soon.
The event was carried live Playchess.com. It was dominated by Kasparov and Karpov, who drew their hard-fought games against each other, and punished the other two players. Judit Polgar lost both her games to Kasparov and got one draw against Karpov. Viktor Kortschnoi, who came to Zurich directly from a tournament in Spain, lost all his games except for one draw against Kasparov.
After the blitz matches the players gave 20-board simultaneous displays, and then proceeded to a gala dinner thrown by Credit Suisse. Here are a few pictures from the blitz matches. A lot more will follow.
